Celestial Games was one of the first companies in Africa to develop and publish computer games. Formed in Johannesburg, South Africa in 1994, we successfully produced two PC titles ( Toxic Bunny and The Tainted ) and then took a little break. We reopened with an HD re-release of Toxic Bunny and have been building our skills and momentum since then. Rated as one of the top game companies in Africa, Celestial now focuses on the eSports industry, including our current main development project, BAD ( Battle Arena Drones ). We work with partners to drive the industry up into Africa, as well as with SA government to stimulate and grow the local gaming industry. Recently we also partnered with a top TV production company to produce content in the digital entertainment space. We hope you find the changes positive and well worth the wait. The history of the drones in the BAD universe is diverse. Built for everything from industrial work to urban pacification, the drones were designed to penetrate any building designed for human use. But every time we tried to look forwards, as the best science fiction is known to do, we found ourselves instead looking back. Those classic stories we grew up reading had taken root in our heads and were unshakeable. This makes them able to move wherever we would do the jobs we might. Release Manager is an all-in-one system to manage releases and updates for any software application, including games. Works with any executable, be they games or regular applications, small or large, complex or simple. Even if your end-user deletes local files, Release Manager’s launcher can find and repair the local installation to ensure smooth operation. Manages online/offline status: take your application offline for testing or quality control. Release Manager was built initially to assist with the distribution and management of Battle Arena Drones. After we tried various other solutions we decided the only choice was to build our own. Release Manager not only handles Unity products, it’s integrated well into Unity. Strap in and pilot an aerial combat drone in this futuristic first-person arena shooter. Six Degrees of Freedom means opponents could attack from any angle, retreat when you least expect it, and lay cunning ambushes against the unwary. BAD is Celestial Games’ current project, and at present is in early alpha. Countless hours of network-linked mayhem taught us one of the most important fundamentals of airborne multiplayer: there is no ground. BAD is a fast-paced action shooter with a focus on arena-based multiplayer combat, community development, and eSports elements. It features multiple gameplay modes, but never sacrifices its goal of high-speed, gravity-free action. Play in global and local tournaments, or just with friends. Play solo or in teams, against human or AI opponents. Go for free-for-all chaos or controlled strategic team-based gameplay. BAD features multiple AI personalities, each bringing its own style and difficulty to the game. AIs don’t just offer levels of immediate challenge, but behave in very different ways, forcing players to learn their strategies and adapt, in much the same way as you’d have to against a human opponent. With BAD, we want players to build, run, and manage their own communities. We give you the tools to plan tournaments and track your ranking on a global or local scale. Or put together your ultimate team and play in either social or ranked tournaments. Whether you’re a casual player looking to blast a few drones on a Sunday afternoon or a hardcore team looking to make it on an international scale, BAD has something for you.
