What you should know about Earthbox

Food in Roodepoort, Plants in Roodepoort, Agriculture in Roodepoort, Fertilizer in Roodepoort

Acting on the laws of nature, the EarthBox® gardening system facilitates the movement of nutrients and water from areas of high concentration to areas of low concentration.
With the EarthBox, you will be able to grow the maximum volume of agricultural products per acre.
Patented design and technology of the EarthBox® gardening system provides plants with unlimited nutritional stability.
When the EarthBox® gardening system is set up, a plant food strip is placed on top of the growing medium — creating an area of high nutrient concentration.
In this way the EarthBox® gardening system creates the perfect growing environment &mdash.

Since then, his product has undergone numerous commercial and scientific trials and improvements that have resulted in a revolutionary gardening system that, time and again, yields more and better quality crops than planting directly in the earth. This extraordinary product has the potential to halt poverty and dependency by making truly self-sustaining food production possible on a subsistence or commercial scale. The growing medium around the roots of the plant contains no plant food at this stage. When water is added, the moist growing medium slowly conducts the diluted nutrients down the concentration gradient to the plant roots, which can then absorb optimal amounts of nutrients at any given time. In this way the plant roots are delivered with, and absorb, only what the plant needs in order to stay healthy. Transfers the ideal amount of moisture to the plants from the bottom up. Give communities a REAL tool with which to break the cycle of hunger, disease, poverty and dependency. Take the first step towards getting a marginalized or impoverished community involved in a project that will put food on the table and provide a potential source of income. Dealers (Retail outlets; cooperatives; landscapers and interior designers) Grow your own food, with virtually no effort, even if you have no garden. Use this list to purchase the correct number of seedlings for the type of plants you wish to grow. The number of seedlings indicated is the optimal number that should be planted to allow for enough room for healthy fully-grow plants to develop. Seedlings of different types, but that have the same optimal number, can be mixed & matched. The patterns shown below illustrate (from above) the best placement of plants and plant food based on the suggested number of plants per variety as listed above. Use the small seedlings from seedling trays or start with seeds. Ask your local nursery to recommend the best varieties for your area and season. The coir is supplied in a compressed brick, which expands when soaked in water. The growth medium can be used for 4 years before it needs to be replaced with new coir in order to ensure continued maximum wicking ability. This special organic plant food has been tried and tested and is preferred for the African situation, but almost any brand of fertilizer suitable for vegetable and flower growth will work. Select a sunny spot, as most warm season crops, such as tomatoes, need 6-8 hours of daily sunlight. Cool season leafy vegetables such as spinach and lettuce require partial shade. The plants should always be planted through the plastic cover into the growth medium. Add water every few days when the plants are young, and every day when your plants are mature. Remove the old plants and the mulch cover, shake the growing medium around the plant roots back into the box and scoop out the old plant food strip. Place the supplied small compressed brick of coir into a suitable container and add 5 litres of water. Pour the entire packet of plant food in a band as illustrated in the Chart and cover with a small amount of growth medium. Most vegetables require a higher pH level than the growth medium provides, and they love Calcium! Letting the system go dry stops the intake of Calcium and plant food to the plants.
