Homely Guesthouse is situated in Roodepoort, which forms part of the Greater City of Johannesburg or Jozi as it is affectionately called by the residents of this vibrant multi traditional “City of Gold” Homely Guesthouse strives to offer you, our visitor, a home away from home.Each of our 10 rooms is tastefully and individually decorated with fine attention to detail, en-suite accommodation, with all bedrooms offering TV with M-net and DSTV. You may even relax or cool down in the sparkling swimming pool, before retiring to your comfortable. We also have a bar fridge in each room together with tea and coffee making facilities to ensure the comfort of your stay.All our rooms are serviced daily and issued with clean towels and toiletries making all our visitors feel welcome at the end of a long day.Enjoy a sundowner in this relaxed atmosphere created by the relaxing sound of the waterfeature and the singing of the birds around our garden.

Rooms are complete with private facilities, satellite TV, hairdryer, fridge, in bedroom and bathroom and Tea/coffee making facilities. We have a shuttle service for our guests from the airport to the lodge as an additional service, at affordable rates. We have a specialty cafeteria at the lodge that provides delicious food, wine and other drinks from all over South Africa. All drinks can be served in the room or in the lounge throughout the day. We are ideally situated a mere 30 minutes from Central Johannesburg, close to all major highways and on the door step of Unisa. Most of the struggle against apartheid was fought in and from Soweto. Soweto is inhabited by over two million people, with homes ranging from extravagant mansions to makeshift shacks. Soweto is a city of enterprise and cultural interaction. It is a popular tourist destination with sites such as Kliptown (where the Freedom Charter was drawn up), the home of former President Nelson Mandela, the Hector Petersen Memorial site, restaurants and shopping. Combine a Three Hour Sightseeing Tour of Soweto with an Afternoon Tour to the Apartheid Museum to get a real insight into South Africa's turbulent past. You will visit important monuments of South Africa's history, such as Freedom Square and Desmond Tutu's home, as you learn the history and segregation which once tore the country apart.
