Independent Trustee Services is a totally independent company established for the purpose of providing trustees.
We are independent from all service providers, dedicated to the needs of our clients in providing best advice for a particular set of facts.
We now assist trustees by providing benefit, investment and legal consulting services to them under our FSP license no. 38298.

Managing retirement fund affairs with a wide range of skills, knowledge and experience. Trustees need to manage service providers providing specialized services like administration, accounting, investments, risk underwriting and other complicated matters. It is no longer sufficient to appoint service providers and leave it in their hands to manage the fund on behalf of the trustees. Trustees are personally responsible and should ensure that the service providers do as they were contracted to do. Legislation now requires trustees and principal officers to equip themselves with the necessary skills and training to fulfil their roles. There are minimum requirements that has to be met before a person may be appointed as principal officer of a fund. Trustees will have to undergo training within six months from being appointed as trustees. There are however certain deductions which can be made from your benefit i.e. Although the company was established in 2007, Independent Trustee Services exist from well before 2007 albeit in a different legal format. We pride ourselves of the fact that we are experienced individuals totally independent from any service provider, highly qualified in fields ranging from pension law, investments, compliance, training and administration. Liz has a BA degree from the University of South Africa (UNISA) and is currently studying through UNISA to complete a further degree. She successfully completed a Foundation Management Course through the Gordon Institute of Business Science. Liz has also attained a number of other formal and informal qualifications in the employee benefits field ranging from benefit design to investments. Liz has a strong administrative and consulting background with more than 20 years of experience in the field. She has consulted to a number of large clients and has served as the principal consultant to the main board of various umbrella funds. Liz was a director and shareholder of Tennant Benefit Consultants and has been employed in management positions with various administration houses and consulting firms. Henry is regarded as an expert on retirement fund matters and regularly participates in industry forums addressing various aspects of retirement fund management. During 1988 and 1995 he completed both the Life and Pensions examinations from the then Institute of Life and Pensions Advisors (now the prestigious Financial Planning Institute) underwritten by the University of the Free State, Henry has also attained a number of other formal and informal qualifications in fields ranging from marketing and sales management to investments. He was later transferred to the group benefits department as senior legal consultant where he progressed to the position of senior manager negotiated benefits market. So with regard to a retirement fund it is a member of the board that is in charge of the (business) affairs of the Fund.
