Matt Stern is a well know actor on television in programmes like: 7de Laan, District 9, Racing Stripes, Plek Van Die Vleisvreters - to name but a few. Matt Stern has a couple of Hollywood films under his belt namely Stander, Hart Van Staal, Begeertes, and most recently “Invictus”(Directed by Clint Eastwood). Known as an esteemed actor, few people realise that Matt Stern is an incredibly talented, professional singer. His extensive repertoire ranges from Elvis to Opera. Trained in Musical Theatre and as a Tenor, Matt pours his soul into a lighter genre with the delicate mix of pizzazz and tenderness that each song requires. Hailed as a brilliant voice with a remarkable stage presence, Matt's interaction with his captive audience is just one of his strong assets. Matt Stern performs mainly in English but also in Afrikaans, Italian and Spanish, ranging from Rock & Roll to Opera. He has been involved in music from an early age, when he started piano lessons. He went on to build up a vast repertoire songs without any formal training on the guitar. Matt participated in numerous competitions in High School and also tried his hand at acting. A couple of years after leaving school, he auditioned to be enrolled in the Musical Theatre course at Pretoria Technicon. Initially working as a freelance singer and actor after receiving his National Diploma in Musical Theatre; the middle of 1999 saw Matt leave theatre to pursue a solo career as a singer. In 2000, Matt was invited to represent South Africa in the World Championships for the Performing Arts in Hollywood California. Matt is also in high demand as a voice-over artist for Radio and TV.
